Our vets know horses.  In addition to their specialized training in equine health and surgery, the doctors at Acadiana Equine Clinic have years of experience working within the horse racing and breeding industries and are actively involved in state and national veterinary organizations.
Dr. Pat Bernard

A 1969 graduate of the Auburn University DVM program, Dr. Bernard has been a partner in Acadiana Equine Clinic since 1983. Before specializing in equine medicine, Dr. Bernard practiced general veterinary medicine in Marksville, LA from 1969-1971, and equine and bovine medicine at Martin-Speyer Animal Hospital in Lafayette, LA from 1972-1982, where he was also a partner. He has cared for horses at Evangeline Downs since 1972. Dr. Bernard is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the Louisiana Veterinary Medicine Association, for which he also served as president, on the board of directors and as chairman of the Equine Committee. He has also been a member and chairman of the Louisiana Board of Veterinary Medicine, and was honored as Louisiana Veterinarian of the Year in 2000. Away from the office, Dr. Bernard enjoys golfing, woodworking and spending time with his wife Ina, four children and their spouses, and eight grandchildren.

Dr. James "Sonny" Corley

Dr. Corley is a 1980 graduate of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and has nearly 30 years of experience providing medical care to performance horses. His specialties include equine reproduction, orthopedics and lameness. Dr. Corley was president of the AAVSB for two years, a member of the Louisiana Board of Veterinary Medicine for five years and chairman for one year. He is married to Edna Dean, a small animal veterinarian, and they have two children, Margaret and Benjamin. Dr. Corley?s hobbies include marlin fishing and flying.

Dr. K.C. Ferrazzano

Dr. K.C. Ferrazzano is a native of Opelousas, LA, and a 1998 graduate of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a Rotating Internship in Equine Medicine and Surgery at the MidAtlantic Equine Center in Ringoes, New Jersey, followed by six months of concentrated study in Large Animal Internal Medicine at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined Acadiana Equine Clinic in 2004. Her areas of clinical interest include reproductive medicine, ophthalmology and internal medicine. Dr. Ferrazzano spends her free time with her husband and three children.

Dr. Meaghan Gilhooly

Originally from Portland, Oregon, Dr. Gilhooly earned her undergraduate degree in zoology and biology from Oregon State University and her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. After graduation, she completed a large animal internship in medicine and surgery at Texas A&M University. Dr. Gilhooly joined Acadiana Equine Clinic in 2006 and her clinical interests include neonatology, internal medicine and lameness. She enjoys riding horses, exercising, and spending time with her husband James Searles and their dogs.

Dr. William Arthur Lindsay

A 1969 graduate of Ontario Veterinary College in Canada, Dr. Lindsey joined the Acadiana Equine Clinic in 2005. He became a Diplomat with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1983, earning his specialty certification in large animal surgery. Dr. Lindsey was a professor of equine surgery and large animal surgery at LSU and University of Wisconsin/Madison from 1978-1998 and had a large animal surgery practice in Wisconsin from 1991-1998. Before joining Acadiana Equine Clinic, he was Director of Veterinary Care for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, for which he now continues to serve as Veterinary Consultant. He and his wife Patricia have three children.

Dr. Cole Noble

Dr. Noble is a native of Slidell, LA and a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation in 2006, she joined Acadiana Equine Clinic. Dr. Noble enjoys practicing equine and small animal medicine. Dr. Noble provides services to small animals of behalf of Acadiana Equine Clinic and Ranch Outlet. Along with working on fascinating Louisiana Racehorses, she also enjoys educating clients and providing tools on how to best care for their pets. Family and friends take top priority in her life when she is not helping animals. Her free time is also filled with gardening, exercise, and spending time with her animals: Batty (a stray Chihuahua, rescued in college), Holly (Hurricane Katirna rescue, she has many battle wounds), Carrie ( a horse rescued in junior high), and King Barney (adopted racehorse last summer).

Dr. Marilyn Rumbaugh

Dr. Rumbaugh was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, earned her BS degree in Veterinary Science from University of Nevada in Reno, and earned her DVM at the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she completed an equine medical and surgical internship at Pioneer Equine Hospital in Oakdale, California and an equine surgery residency at LSU, where she also earned an MS in Veterinary Physiology. Dr. Rumbaugh joined the team at Acadiana Equine Clinic in 2005. She is board-certified in equine surgery by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, and is a member in good standing of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, The American Association of Equine Practitioners, and the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Her hobbies include horseback riding and running.

Dr. Justin Jensen

Dr. Jensen grew up on a cow-calf and horse ranch in Eastern Nebraska. he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2009. Upon graduation, he began working for Acadiana Equine Clinic. His clinical interest include equine reproduction, cow-calf production, and embryo transfer. Dr. Jensen is a member in good standing of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, The American Association of Equine Practitioners, The American Association of Bovine Practitioners, and Academy Veterinary Consultants. He spends his free time with his wife, Jill, and daughter, Marissa.

Dr. Bridget Kelly

Dr. Kelly is originally from Baton Rouge. She attended Louisiana State University for her undergraduate work, as well as, her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation in 2008, she completed an internship at Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, Florida. She joined the team at Acadiana Equine Clinic in the fall of 2009. She has a special clinical interest in animal acupuncture and chiropractic medicine. In her free time, Dr. Kelly enjoys spending time with friends and family, horseback riding, and enjoying her pets.

Dr. Libby Rees

Dr. Libby Rees is a native of Lafayette and has recently returned here to practice. She completed her undergraduate degree and Veterinary training at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. She is an accomplished Equestrienne, and has trained and competed extensively in both Hunter / Jumper and Eventing disciplines. Her practice interest include Theriogeneology, Internal Medicine, and Sporthorse Medicine.
She spends her free time enjoying the outdoors, the company of family, friends, and her dog Avery.
